H&M aim to contribute to the sustainable development of society and that of the
environment with which we interact. We are committed to ethical and socially responsible
business practices. We have established processes and procedures to ensure that
our products meet with design, material composition and product quality, consistent
with responsible social and environmental business standards and practices.
We exercise due diligence to ensure that our products meet applicable U.S. and Canadian
safety regulations. We periodically test new products for compliance and safety.
Products are tested for compliance to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission,
California Proposition 65 and where applicable, local state materials and product
design safety standards. Manufacturer's factories are audited to ensure ongoing
supplier compliance to product quality, social and safety compliance and proper
environmental practice. Our supplier factories are also subject to third-party social
and environmental compliance inspections. H&M continues to explore other avenues
to promote responsible social and environmental business standards and practices
within its operations.
